This Is Really Sick

Go here to read about a new bill in CONgress, it's about allowing/requiring HHS to ask anyone signing up for social services (food stamps...) about their sexual orientation, (gay, lesbian, trangendered...), that isn't the really bad part, this question isn't just for adults, they will ask SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN this question as well.

No More Politics...

... at least not here. :)

I have tried very hard to keep politics off of this blog, it's not what this blog is all about, though some of it does bleed over from time to time, and it's not what I am all about either. So, I decided it was time to start a new blog so that if I have a political rant that I need to get off of my chest, I can post it over there.

I'm warning you right now that the other blog will probably offend some of you, so if you tend to be more left leaning, then you should probably stick to reading this blog and stay away from that one. I can say that I read many blogs where I disagree with the blog author's political leanings, but I'm willing to overlook that to get to the good stuff that they write. I hope you are willing to do the same for me.

So from now on, I'll do my utmost best to keep the politics off this blog and keep it about off grid stuff. Go here to read about my political musings.

Another One...

The same friend who sent the contents of my previous post is on a roll, she sent this to me today:

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA NEWSPAPER-New Immigrants

This is a very good letter to the editor. This woman made some good points...

For some reason, people have difficulty structuring their arguments when arguing against supporting the currently proposed immigration revisions.. This lady made the argument pretty simple. NOT printed in the Orange County Paper...................

Newspapers simply won't publish letters to the editor which they either deem politically incorrect (read below) or which does not agree with the philosophy they're pushing on the public. This woman wrote a great letter to the editor that should have been published; but, with your help it will get published via cyberspace!

From: "David LaBonte"

My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I decided to "print" it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it along if you feel so inclined. Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register:

Dear Editor:

So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France and Japan . None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan . They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

KEEP THIS LETTER MOVING. FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY NEEDS TO REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET!! LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!!

I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across the nation!!

I have a multitude of nationalities coursing though my blood, English, Irish, German-Dutch, Comanche and Apache, those are no in any particular order, it's just how I memorized it as a child. Even though my ancestors came from many countries/nations, I was born in the USA and when asked about my nationality, I state that I am an American, nothing more, nothing less.

MOVING TO MEXICO

Dear President Obama:

I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.

We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.

We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.

I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over?

Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.

3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.

4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.

5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.

6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.

7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.

9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico , but, I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. Flag from my house top, put U S. Flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.

13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.

14. I want to receive free food stamps.

15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.

16. I'll need Income tax credits so although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.

17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.

18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U..S. From Mexico . I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely..

Thank you so much for your kind help. You're the man!!!

***********************************

Not all immigrants, legal or illegal represent what is stated above, most are hard working people who want to improve their lives and the lives of their families. There are many USA born who feel that they are entitled to these things in the USA, and would like to change our capitalistic lifestyle to a more socialistic mode of government.
I have no problem with LEGAL immigration, I can understand why people would risk their lives to try to enter this great Country, just do it the right way, or better yet, do what you can to improve the living conditions in your own country.

I might remove this post in a few days, not because I've changed my mind about any of it, I'm just in a bad mood today, a friend sent this in an email and I decided to post it here. Tomorrow I will probably be in a better mood and will not want something this dark on my blog, it's not what I'm about. Read it while you can.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution

Warning, politics ahead, including libertarian leaning opinions, mine.

I don't usually post political things, though it seems that I'm starting to say that more and more LOL, the truth is the more our illustrious leaders (TPTB) try to shove things down our throats, for the good of the people of course, the more I have to say about what is going on. Why can't they just leave us alone? Specifically the socialized health care they want to force everyone to participate in, choosing not to participate makes us criminals, the reason, they say is everyone has to pay in order to make it financially possible to cover everyone. I call BS, did you know that all congress members, even if they only serve one term, get paid for the rest of their life and get free healthcare plus all of the other perks they have? So, how about cutting that out, pay them for the job they do while they do it, uh, just like the rest of us do? Make them have to save for their own retirement and rely on Social Security and Medicare. TPTB say that they want equality for everyone, how about including themselves in that so called equality? How much money would that save? I'd bet that would go pretty far in covering the poor, uninsured and under insured.

Here's another thing, I received a jury duty summons last month, it said that there were certain things that would exempt a potential jury member, one of those was if you were a member of congress or employed by congress. So, that seems to be another perk, no jury duty.

What prompted this rant you ask? I received an interesting email from a friend, this is what it had to say:

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States  Constitution,
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that Congress members could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they didn't pay into Social Security, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered...in all of its' forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop. This is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States  Constitution,:

"Congress shall make no law that  applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to  the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies  to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the  citizens of the United States ."

If each person who receives/reads this contacts a minimum of Twenty people on their Address list, and in turn asks each of those to do likewise in three days, all of the people in US should have received the Message.  This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

What do you think? Sounds pretty good to me. :) Uncle Big Bro, keep your nose and fingers out of my business and pocketbook!

Another thing I saw on TV today, on Fox news, they were talking about our government's concern about militias, they want to lump together patriot movement, the Oath Keepers with so called right wing loons, anarchists and such, they were showing videos of people in military garb shooting at targets, Bill O'Reily was interviewing someone who kept referring to these people as radical right wing, tin foil hat wearing, conspiracy theorist who believe these "conspiracies" such as prison camps for the US citizens, our gov bringing in non-US military to control the masses, martial law being right around the corner. It seems to me that TPTB are campaigning big time against anyone who belongs to a group that might rise up against them when the time comes. Bill O'Riley said he was going to invite someone from the Oath Keepers to be on his show tomorrow, Thurs, Feb 18, for an interview, it just might be interesting.

I wonder how many alphabet gov agencies will visit my blog because of this post? I still get them, just not as often, that might change now. Before anyone posts a comment about me being paranoid or thinking TPTB are spying on me, no they aren't "spying", they visit in plain open sight, they don't hide. I am completely aware of the fact that if "they" really wanted to spy on me, without my knowledge, they are more than capable of doing it. My theory is that "they" want me to see them, it's a form of intimidation, sorta like the mall cop that follows you through the store, standing close to you without actually doing or saying anything to you, it's just for the intimidation factor. I am truly sorry if I offended any mall cops. LOL.

One more thing, while on the political soapbox, there seems to be a lot of talk in political circles about the budget, it's simple actually, in each and every American home, people have to decide how much to spend and on what, if you choose to blow your money, then you might not have enough left over to pay bills, if you are getting in over your head in debt, then STOP SPENDING MONEY, spending more money when you are drowning in debt is insanity. So, to TPTB, stop spending more money, cut back on what is being spent now, stop with the tax and spend already, it's NOT WORKING nor is it the right thing to do.

End of political ranting, for now.
