Amigurumi
Here is my latest complete waste of time, well unless you count the enjoyment I get from making it and the fact that is uses up scrap yarn... this is my very first amigurumi, amigurumi is a Japanese artform or craft that translates to "knitted stuffed toy". These are more often made with crochet, but can be done with knitting. Anyhoo, here's my first one, a bunny just in time for Easter. I still need to add a mouth and nose.
He keeps staring at me, I can almost read his little mind, it's easy, it's full of fluff and not much else. He is thinking... "I wish I had a mouth so that I could ask for a nose..."

Sky Castle Pictures
Here are a few pix, mainly of the sky castle and the addition of the tower and the cone on the top.
Click on any of the images to see it full size.
Click the "read more" link to see all the pictures.....

The tank, and the cone, you can see the boom here, you can also see the safety strap going around the tank, PB attached himself to this strap so he couldn't fall off. |
PB built the boom to get the cone on the top. |
I don't know how PB comes up with this stuff... |

Keyboard Debut
Well, here it is, my keyboard debut. The keyboard sounds much better live, but that's just the way it is with my video recording equipment. Enjoy.

Out For Delivery...
Out For Delivery may just be the sweetest 3 words I know right now, well until it says "delivered", can you say "squealing with delight"??? In case you haven't been reading this silly blog since 3 days ago, go here for an explanation... http://wretha.blogspot.com/2011/03/contest-of-sorts.html
Thank God that it's coming by UPS, our delivery drivers out here are pretty typically afraid of our neighborhood, not because of violence or scary people, it's our roads, we have miles of maze like, unpaved, sometimes unmarked or poorly marked, dirt and rock mountain roads, many are 4X4 only, sometimes even a local can get temporarily lost or stuck... typically delivery drivers don't even try to find an address out here, even GPS isn't accurate, other delivery drivers will take packages to the main office (near the fire department) and leave it there, well not our Bobby, he is the absolute best UPS delivery guy out here. He goes so far beyond the call of duty, he knows where his UPS truck can go, and when, rainy season can make some of our scary roads impassible, I have to give major kudos to Bobby, I hope that man never retires!

Order Complete
Quickie post here, I just ordered the music keyboard and accessories, All American x5, your name was picked by a random number generator so it was as random and fair as I could make it. I did everything I know how to make sure you got the credit, first I deleted all of my Amazon.com cookies, I clicked on your Amazon.com product link on your page, and I entered your associate ID on each page of the items I ordered, so hopefully that worked and you should receive the credit for the purchases.
I ordered the keyboard, the stand, the case, and I ordered a sustain pedal. I also ordered a 3 year extended warranty (for the keyboard), so you should see at least the first 4 items, I don't know if they pay commissions for the extended warranty sales, hope they do.
I am so excited about this, I can't wait to get everything, the tentative delivery date is Monday March 14, I'm also nervous, I hate spending this amount of money all at once, especially on something that isn't necessary for life... OK, deep breath, I'll be posting videos and such as soon as I get this and have a chance to play around with it a bit.

Contest, of sorts...
All-righty my lovely readers, I am about to make an order from Amazon, it's going to be a bigger order and one of you lovely readers who have an Amazon.com associate account will get the credit for it. Read on to find out who...
This is what I'm going to be ordering:
Yamaha YPG-235 76-key Portable Grand Graded-Action USB Keyboard
I'll also order some accessories to go with it:
Yamaha PKBX2 Double X Portable Keyboard Stand
And a case:
World Tour Deluxe Keyboard Gig Bag for Yamaha (YPG235)
I already have an adapter for it. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know how long I've been waiting to get one of these, money doesn't come easy here, I'm not complaining one little bit, our life is good and it's good on very little money coming in, so I had to wait to save up my Amazon.com associate credits (thanks to those who made your Amazon.com purchases through my links!). I am cheating just a little though, I'm using some of my income tax return as well.
I am so excited about this, I've been practicing on the piano at church, and I've been getting better and better (if I do say so myself), everyone who hears me play comments on how well I sound. The lessons I'm taking are really paying off, and I've only done the first 2. I need to be able to practice everyday in order to really progress past the first lesson in the second part of the lesson pack.
I have lots of artists and musicians in my family, so it's in my DNA to be musical (and artistic), growing up I focused on art, mainly because I was so shy, when you sing or play an instrument it's usually something you DO in front of people, I was flat out too shy to do that, now drawing and painting, I could do that in private then display the finished work just fine, I wasn't "performing live" for anyone. I did play the piano and organ as a kid, but didn't want anyone to hear me. Now that I no longer have that problem (hehehe), I can't wait to get my keyboard and start playing for everyone. I'll even make some videos and post them here when I get the keyboard.
Good luck everyone!

Contest
So, for my lovely readers with Amazon.com associate accounts, respond here in the comment with a link to your site, it must have an easy to find Amazon.com link there, when I get ready to order, I'll do a drawing from everyone who has responded and that's who will get the credit for the sale. This is going to be a short contest, I'm going to be ordering early next week, so there isn't much time, I'll hold off as long as I can, but I've already been waiting far too long and my fingers are itching to start playing! The only reason I'm waiting until next week is I'm waiting on my tax return, it's supposed to hit the bank early in the week.
A quick note, whoever is chosen, I will go to your site and click on one of your Amazon.com links (that's why there needs to be an easy to find Amazon link to a product on your site), you do not need to create a special link for this that goes to the keyboard, though you can if you wish to. Once I click on your link, then I will immediately purchase the keyboard and accessories. This SHOULD give you the credit for the sale, but I'm not guaranteeing anything, I believe this is the way it works, the last place where I clicked on an Amazon.com product link (with your code embedded) should get the credit for the next sale. I will do my best to make sure it happens that way. I am also assuming that doing this isn't against Amazon's rules, so far I haven't found anything that says I can't do this, if I find out differently, I will remove the "contest", I do not want to do anything that will jeopardize my account with Amazon.
