Redneck Washing Machine

I wanted my own redneck washing machine and now I have one, go here to read all about it:

It works great! I even make my own laundry soap to go in it. Now PB is planning on making a roller wringer for me, hopefully I'll have that by the end of the day.

  1. Now don't you look like you're having fun!

Not supposed to enjoy wash day so much, are ya?

  2. Hehehehe, HJ, that's our little secret, ok? :)

  3. I like it Wretha. When I bought my place here, in the garage I found an old tin plunger type thing a ma doo, for doing laundry. I still have it kickin around somewhere and some day I think I'll have to give that a try and wash a load, just so I can say that I did. Looks like fun, but I think it might be one of those things where the novelty runs out rather quickly.

  4. Yeah FCH, it is fun now, and I realize it will become work, but I have a secret to making dull work stay fun, I put on my ear buds plugged into my MP3 player and listen to some techno or some progressive country, something fun and fast, it gets me going, bouncing around, and the work is done before I know it. :) I used to be shy, embarrassed to move when I heard music I liked, but not any more, I'm having fun and I don't care what anyone thinks, I think that's an age thing...

  5. I love it! I have one figured out and the parts for it, but it's the wringer that I need most. I learned when I was younger and too broke to pay for a wash and dry at the laundromat that it's the wringer I need most. I'm looking, but so far, they are too expensive.

  6. Herbalpagan, yeah those wringers are expensive, that's why I am looking at a mop bucket with a roller wringer, they run around $25 (with free shipping) on Amazon, check my link in the article on my other site.

Momlady, nope, no large loads, just lots of small ones. :) It's just PB and I, so most of the time, there aren't any large loads.

  7. This is excellent! I just posted a link to the Vandwellers Facebook Group... a great way to do laundy for us simple living folk! :) Thanks.
